PowerMarket has partnered with Lodestar Energy, an Avon, Conn.-based community solar developer, to integrate their expertise and provide Tioga, N.Y., a new renewable energy opportunity. Over 800 New York State Electric and Gas Corporation (NYSEG) subscribers can now take part in one of the largest community solar projects in the area.
By subscribing to this project, participants will receive community solar credits that reduce their NYSEG electricity bill. Through this process, subscribers will see a 10% discount on their community solar credits—all while supporting local renewable energy.
“PowerMarket is especially excited to partner with Lodestar and provide even more New Yorkers access to clean energy with one of the largest projects in Tioga, NY. With our partners at SustainableWestchester, we have assembled an extremely experienced team to ensure we maximize the benefits for our home state of New York.” said Nick Baudouin, Co-Founder of PowerMarket.
This project provides even greater benefits to the community by mitigating environmental impacts often associated with energy production. This work is helping New York State move closer to achieving a cleaner and more sustainable future for its residents.
“Community solar makes sense no matter how you look at it whether it’s social, financial, or environmental. However, these projects can often be challenging to manage. PowerMarket has been an instrumental partner in our community solar project as they have helped bring what we developed to subscribers in the form of community solar credits with software that is easy to use. PowerMarket’s knowledge of the industry and customer needs have made them a partner we hope to work with again in the future,” said Jaime Smith, Co-Founder of Lodestar Energy
