Aurora Town Board Encourages Residents to Enroll in PowerMarket Community Solar

NEW YORK, NY, UNITED STATES, June 13, 2024 – The Aurora Town Board, located just south of Buffalo, approved the Aurora Solar Savings Initiative. It will bring community solar to residents through a solar farm located in nearby Dickinson, NY, later this summer.

This will allow participants to enroll in solar and experience the benefits to their electric bill without installation. The Dickinson solar farm will apply credits to participants' accounts, saving each person up to 10% on electricity annually and prioritizing local clean energy.

Aurora is also poised to receive a state grant if this initiative is successful. The NYSERDA Clean Energy Communities grant depends on substantial participation in this clean energy project.

Deputy Supervisor Luke Wochensky is encouraging all to take advantage of this opportunity and save money through clean energy.

EDPRNA, the solar developers, are working with PowerMarket to facilitate community involvement and grant eligibility.
